Top rated bottled waters
Ranked from published COAs, not brand familiarity. Complete PFAS and microplastics testing wins tie-breaks.
Popular names can still rank lower

Scoring methodology
Score is a weighted sum of seven pillars that total 100 by construction: heavy metals clean (18), PFAS not detected (18), microplastics not detected (18), contaminant detection density (up to 18; 12 from cleanRatio plus 6 from a squeaky-clean bonus that decays per detection), coverage breadth (up to 8), source integrity for water (up to 12), and verification quality (up to 8). Penalties: three points per flagged analyte, eighteen points for microplastics detected. Untested critical analytes forfeit their pillar value rather than incurring a separate penalty. All data extracted from independent third-party COA reports.
Products without a COA are capped at 50 and marked as unverified. Partial verification (incomplete panel coverage) caps at 70. Self-reported manufacturer data caps at 60. Only products with full independent COA verification can score above 70.
